We had a wonderful time at the University of Tampa with Stacie & her family, with her Grand parents coming down for a few days she wanted something to remember the occasion. Not just pictures but more a record of her family on that day, something she could keep forever. We spent a chilly morning on Saturday in the company of Magic 94.9′s Ann Kelly at the annual Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell run. I have to say, I think I am in good heath & I could not have run any where near as quick as some of our runners & walkers, If there was ever a lesson in determination this was it. I took oooooodles of pictures for them & have posted a gallery below. If you get a chance please check out their web site arthritis.org to see some of the great work they do. Hey guys, just a quick shout out, we are currently collecting Toys for Tots in the Studio on Oakfield Drive. We have a very big box that needs filling with new unopened toys, please take a few minutes this Christmas to think about all those poor parents who do not have the means to give their children presents this Christmas. Lets help make it special for everybody, god bless, Simon & Bec.

As well as spending a lot of time running around the studio catching & photographing crazy kids ( Its me that winds them up!! Sorry parents) I sometimes get to play with adults, this was the case when I spent a lovely afternoon with the McRae family. They wanted something typically Floridan with lots of green, we eventually decided on the University of Tampa.

As usual the weather was delightful and we had a lot of fun, getting great pictures goes far beyond just the technical use of the camera, its about chatting & laughing & enjoying the moment.

As well as getting some great Images for their walls, we also managed to capture some great moments, I guarantee these are the pictures that will be looked at in 10 years time & bring back floods of cool memories.

Mindy & Michael came to Shakespeare Photography as a recommendation from Jon’s Bridal in Tampa, since they bought their dress from there we gave them a very cool studio pre wedding shoot, I taught them how to look good in front of the camera, best way to stand, sit & how to have fun, and most importantly to be natural in front of the camera.

I am due to shoot their wedding in the coming months & I cannot wait, we had such a great time during the shoot, I can imagine the wedding will be even better. Take a look at a small video of the time we had together.

We had a wonderful shoot with little Destiny, who wanted pictures in her brand new Halloween outfit, we put on some scary music, turned down the lights and still had a great time. Check out the slideshow of her shoot. For a one hour Halloween shoot we charge just $35, trust me the experience alone is worth it.

So we were asked to high tail it down to the Beach to shoot two best friends, Shelby & Christina. It was late in the afternoon & a beautiful breeze came off the ocean. Sometimes you just have to stop & appreciate what an amazing place we live in. The girls were true rock stars, we took a couple of minutes to get to know each other, then the games began…

We ran through the sea, climbed over benches and generally had a great time. I want to thank Shelby & Christina for being a pleasure to work with.

Remember for this shoot we charge $99 per person and that includes an 8×10 or a digital file (for model portfolios). The shoot lasts for well over an hour & If you are looking at a modelling career I will give you all of the tips & tricks to looking good in front of the camera. What a wonderful time we had at Shake Portraits. We have photographed Faith and her parents David & Heather a number of times, however this was the first time we had introduced cake into the mix!!

Well it got everywhere, mostly over Faith, I did not mind for one minute as I and all of the Studio staff finished it off, don’t tell…….

Mallory’s location shoot with Shake Portraits started in a very civilized manor, as she relaxed and became more used to the camera, a supermodel appeared! We created quite a stir among the local residents who I Imagine thought a celebrity had come to town.

The weather was sweltering & we just had to end up in the fountains, check out the end of this video for the some world class pictures.

We shoot Seniors in the Studio all the time, sometimes in our very popular white room & sometimes with one of our customized backgrounds, although I have to say there is nothing like shooting on location.

With Lauren there were no plans, we were going to hit Ybor running. Her Mom Susan became our creative director for the shoot, running in constantly to help out with hair & make up.

What can I say about Lauren, WOW, her beautiful dark curls danced in the Florida sunshine, her eyes, dark & mysterious brought an exotic feel to the whole shoot. Being a member of the Color Guard, she brought with her a sword & a rifle, I have to say, this is a first for me!!!

Howdy Shaker’s

I shot the most wonderful lady & her beautiful little boy Ronald II, a few days ago, Shenee wanted desperately to have some pictures taken to send to her husband Ronald, who is currently serving overseas. I remember when I was younger and serving in the Royal Navy. I was often away from home for months at a time. I now have three amazing children, & would never want those day’s back. My heart goes out to those brave soldiers who leave their families and risk their life so we should live in peace.

This got me thinking, how could I use the Studio’s of Shake Portraits to give back a little, then it hit me. Can you imagine if while on duty a soldier received a message on either his or her laptop or smart phone, when they opened the message they were able to watch a low rez video slideshow of one of our action packed shoots with their family. To see their children running around, laughing & screaming, to see Mom tickling them, all in our white room.
